The ensemble of tremendous talent features:

  • José Barrios (Dancer and Choreographer): Mr. Barrios has studied flamenco in Cordoba, Seville and Madrid with such stars as Manolo Marín, Domingo Ortega and La China. He has toured throughout the United States with the Boston Flamenco Ballet, and has choregraphed several works for the company. Mr. Barrios also has performed or served as assistant to the choreographer with several other companies, including those of Blanca del Rey, Suite Española, José Porcel and María Pagés.
  • Sonia Fernández Olla (Dancer): Ms. Fernández was born in Barcelona and has studied with Merche Esmeralda, Manolo Marín, Mariquilla, and Antonio Canales. She began her career with Compañía de Rafael Amargo, and has also performed with other companies, including those of Domingo Ortega, Aída Gómez, Eva la Hierbabuena, and Rafael Carrasco, and Nuevo Ballet Español. Ms. Fernández is member of the María Pagés Company.
  • El Trini de la Isla (Singer): Born in Cádiz, Mr. de la Isla studied with master artist Manuel Soto El Sordera. He has worked at such renowned flamenco tablaos as El Cordobés in Barcelona and Los Gallos in Seville. Mr. de la Isla also has performed with flamenco artists Juan Ogalla, Rosario Toledo, Mercedes Ruíz, Andrés Peña and La Chiqui de Jerez, among others.
  • Isaac Muñoz Casado (Guitarist): Mr. Casado began studying at the age of eight with the acclaimed guitarist Rafael Trenas, and later with maestro Ramón Rodríguez at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Córdoba. He has been musical director with the companies of Jorge del Pino, Marco Antonio Medina, and María Pagés, with whom he has also toured.
  • José María Uriarte (Percussionist): A native of Madrid, Mr. Uriarte began studying when he was 15 years old with master percussionist José Antonio Galicia. He has worked with artists Antonio “El Pipa”, Belén Fernández and Rafael de Utrera, among others; and the companies of Alejandro Granados, “La Tati”, Paco Mora, Antonio Márquez, and Rabel Granados.

Casa Patas is a world-renowned Madrid tablao/club, hosting some of the best and most authentic flamenco in Spain. Famous groups and debut talent sometimes share the stage to create incredible shows. The Fundación Conservatorio Flamenco grew out of this club and today sponsors workshops, seminars, and exhibitions promoting the art of flamenco.
