Ana en el trópico
Anna in the Tropics

By Nilo Cruz (Cuba/USA)
Directed by José Carrasquillo

February 9 - March 4

“a storyteller of intricate craftsmanship and poetic power…”

– Miami Herald

The arrival of a lector at a 1920s cigar factory in Ybor City, Florida triggers a slow and profound transformation in the workers' lives. As the lector reads to them from a Russian novel by Tolstoy, hidden secrets and forbidden passions surface. The characters navigate a complex field of human emotions, creating a magical and stunning play.

GALA's production of Ana en el trópico is presented in Spanish with English surtitles. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 3 pm. Don't miss the DC Premiere in Spanish of this Pulitzer Prize winning play!
