Mainstage Student Matinee Program

Dear Educator,

As you plan for the new academic year, we invite you to participate in GALA Hispanic Theatre’s Student Matinee Program. The 2012-13 season productions will give your students the opportunity to connect with and learn more about the diverse range of Hispanic cultures in a bilingual setting. GALA’s Student Matinee Program continues to promote cultural literacy and language skills in a creative environment, where students can experience live theater while expanding their knowledge about history, literature and the arts.

In an effort to make each performance more rewarding for you and your students, we can provide the following:

• Simultaneous English surtitles (except on bilingual productions);
• An electronic copy of the script in Spanish and/or English (available upon request);
• Educational supplement with information about the play, playwright, historical context, and suggested readings;
• Post-performance discussions with the actors and director, where students and teachers can inquire about the play and the production process;
• Student group rate of $15 per ticket (single ticket prices range from $36-$40);
• Free educator ticket per every 20 students who attend the performance.

For the upcoming season, the three mainstage productions with student matinees are:
