Take a musical journey to Argentina...
GALA's ArteAmerica series proudly presents the renowned José Luis Merlín Quartet with Brian Baumbusch of Washington, DC! An evening of Argentine folk music - chacareras, zambas, cuecas, vidalas, milongas, and more!

The José Luis Merlín Quartet will perform Argentine folk music - the music of the gauchos, the pampa, el asado and el vino! The music is inspired by the pride and humility of the Argentine people and evokes the broad plains of grain and cattle, the golden tides of wheat, the majestic cordilleras, the winding brooks, and the dry river beds that make ravines through the ranges of spiny bushes.

The José Luis Merlín Quartet is comprised of world-renowned Argentinean classical guitarist and composer José Luis Merlín, David and Sebastian Merlín, and Brian Baumbusch. The quartet includes two guitars, a violin, and the bombo leguero.

Melodías inspiradas por el orgullo y la humildad del pueblo argentino que evocan las extensas praderas pobladas de ganado, los dorados campos de trigo, las altas y majestuosas cordilleras, los zigzagueantes arroyuelos, y los arbustos espinosos de los barrancos.

El José Luis Merlín Quartet está compuesto por el famoso guitarrista clásico y compositor José Luis Merlín, David y Sebastián Merlín, y Brian Baumbusch. El cuarteto incluye dos guitarras, un violín y un bombo legüero.
